It can often be difficult to write a role-play. Here we present
a ready-made guide to ease the process of converting the story of
the plum stone into a role-play.

Mother
Vanja
Father
Sister

The script
Mother enters the living room with a bag of plums. She places them
on a plate and puts them on the table.
Mother: have bought plums for the children to
share after dinner
Sister & Vanja: want to taste the plums immediately
Father: no, must wait until after dinner
Everybody except Vanja leaves the room.
Vanja: plums smell good, he wants to taste, only
one, no one will notice
Vanja eats one of the plums, and throws the stone out the window.
Leaves the room.
Mother comes into the room, and starts setting the table.
Mother: counts the plums, one missing, calls father
Father: what's wrong
Mother: explains the matter
Father: calls the children
Children arrive.
Father: explains the matter, asks who has taken
the plum
Sister: I haven't
Vanja: (embarrassed) I haven't
Father: tells the children that the worst thing
is not that one plum has been eaten, but that if it has not been
eaten in the right way, the one who ate it will die before the evening
Vanja: says he threw the stone out the window
Mother, Father and Sister: laughs
Vanja: cries
